MGS: Ground Zeroes Trailer - Video Game Blog, Video Game Reviews

Today at PAX Prime, Hideo Kojima stepped on stage and showed the very first trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. The trailer seems to be a mix of a cutscene with some gameplay at the very end. Get your second pair of boxer shorts ready.

The trailer leaves a lot more questions than answers.

The biggest question being, who?s that horribly disfigured man? All signs point to him being an antagonist, seeing as how he was undercover in that American base. Aside from that, is he a returning character or a new one? Another question is, who was that boy in the cage? Some speculation points to it being a young Raiden, as he?s stated in MGS2 he was once a child soldier.

However, it has been confirmed that this game is another prequel. A lot of the dialog mentions characters and events from MGS Peace Walker so general consensus guesses this game will take place a few years after Peace Walker, perhaps in the 1980s.

Probably the biggest bit of news to come out of this, though not specifically shown in this trailer, is that this will be an open world MGS game. Some more footage was shown at PAX showing Snake hijacking vehicles, calling in for air support, and Hideo Kojima stated that you will be taking helicopters to different locations in real-time.

The new MGS trailer blew away audiences away left and right. It left fans foaming at the mouth and extremely excited. The future of Metal Gear now seems extremely? solid.
